To choose the right color, first, you need to consider what result you want to accomplish. Do you want to accentuate or mute your cabinets? Do you wish to darken the space or to make it look more bright? Do some research to find inspiration and get an idea of the final result.

To determine the color’s undertone, look at the darkest shade of that particular color. If there is not enough natural light, consider choosing one or two tones of lighter color, there is a big chance that your kitchen wall color will look darker.
So it’s better to always, try first with a small example on the wall, to see with lighting in your kitchen what shade that color will look like. Did you know that the way you hang curtains in any room can ruin the entire look of that space? But if you do it correctly, it can bring total balance, as everything in space goes together. Before you decide on the color, texture, and pattern for your kitchen window or balcony door, think about a solution that suits your style and daily needs.

There are plenty of ways that you can decorate your kitchen windows.

Choose between curtains, Roman shades, panel track blinds, roller shades, drapery, and many more. To choose the color of window treatments, use the complementary colors on the wheel and consider what other colors are already based in the space.

The final look and the style of decoration that your kitchen will have should also guide you to choose the right treatment for windows. For example, if your kitchen is minimal and modern, then one color roller shades or blinds will fit nicely, but if you are a lover of country style and mason jar storage, then something like gingham curtains, or colorful Roman shades will probably be your best friend. What kind of lighting and how many sources of artificial light your kitchen might need depends on many factors. Shape and the size of your kitchen, daily use of the space, the size of the kitchen island, and the color of kitchen cabinets and the wall. In general, dark colors absorb more light so the room will need more lumens. Light shade reflects more light, making the room look bright with fewer lumens.

*The kitchen, bathroom, and office are rooms of our home that need a stronger light.

Opt for a bright white (between white and blue light) with 4000 to 5000 Kelvin. Without proper lighting, preparing and cooking food, as well as dining, or sometimes even working, wouldn’t be an enjoyable experience.

*To make a kitchen more functional and aesthetic, each area depending on use should be lightened accordingly. Cooking area, sink area, kitchen island area, dining table area Etc.

With well-planned lighting, and choosing unique light designs, you can make your kitchen look bigger., can emphasize details, by highlighting some key decorating spots, and create a functional and inviting ambiance.

There are three kinds of light to incorporate in space to achieve the desired effect. Task lighting, mood lighting, and feature lighting.

-Task lighting covers working areas like preparation, cooking, and sink.

-Moonlighting can be used to create a different atmosphere in a room.

-Feature lighting is eye-catching light that creates interest and gives character to the space. For example, it could be a fascinating ceiling light used as a focal point. Using this layered approach of lighting can give a new dimension to your kitchen.

6. Install Open Shelves

If you have an empty wall, that could be a great spot to install some open shelves. Their purpose is not only decorative but can be a great practical solution for organizing and decluttering the entire space.

Except for some decor elements, you can place on shelves some nice baskets to store all of the small things that you use daily but don’t want to be seen, to avoid cluttering.

To make it functional, shelves should be installed at arm’s reach. Higher shelves can be used for decor purposes and lower ones for everyday items that you use regularly.

To style shelves, try to group similar items, don’t mix, and much a lot of color palettes. Use a similar color palette, or two opposite colors for creating contrast, create layers with different size elements, and play with it around until you get the finish that you like. The final result should look nice and tidy.

Maybe you have too much stuff, so consider Declutter first. If there are items that don’t belong in the kitchen, remove them. During the day, all the things that you use, make habits to put away right after use. Reset your Kitchen every evening. Any room that gets used every single day, needs to be reset every evening! If you do it like a Routine every single evening, it will take just a couple of minutes, instead of leaving it for days, and make it harder to clean.
